My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

The guy that does those had a 65 Polara 500 Convertible for about three years in the swap area. My daughter Rachel was about in her early teens when that car was there. She loved it and he was kind enough to let her sit in it. She wanted that car in the worst way and was devastated when he sold it. THAT is the only reason I remember that guy.

I'll keep a cable plugged in and route it somewhere that it can live and be out of site but convenient.
The MP3 converter I installed in jazebelle worked out great, (kinda like the old FM converters). Selection, tone and volumn are controlled at the radio with additional volumn at the MP3 player. The unit is hidden under the dash with just the cable exposed.
The low wattage original am mono radio kind of restricts sound quality. I used a three way 6 X 9 speaker in the original location in the rear seat grille which helped a lot.

The converters cost $130.00 new but I found one on ebay for $60.00

I plan on having the radio in my 61 Ply upgraded though......

Here it is although I'll likely want to make a different bracket for the front speakers, he's no carpenter.
he does have quite the train layout in his basement though...

That's awesome. So you can power an amp & sub with those RCA outs?

Here's what I made.

Cardboard pattern

3/8" MDF from a packing crate

I will answer your question Stormer. I know you can but in order to give you accurate info I put a call in to Don to review what plugs into where. I may not have been listening as closely as I should through his tutorial because I thought the booklet would tell me the same thing but it doesn't.
stay tuned, pun intended!

The RCA jack on the back will send signal to the amp and to sub from there.

Antenna goes where it did before and there are 2 RCA jacks for other sources such as satellite, cd changer etc.

What are you doing for speakers? Those 46 year old speakers aren't going to get the job done.

Front speaker is pictured and I will pick up a couple of modern 6 X 9s for the rear and eventually an amp and a 10" sub

That front mounting plate couldn't have been cut freehand, it's too precise. How did you do it?
I'm sure you're talking about the one big John fabbed!

The one I did?? Yea, freehand.

Made a cardboard template, penciled it on the MDF and cut it with a sabre saw. I cut the holes with a dremel with a router attachment. A little touch up with a belt sander and there you are.

All I'm going to say is I had nothing to do with the one that was made for me and will probably rebuild it.
