My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

We used to have a dealership where they chauffeured in a long retired body guy born around 1910 for the most delicate bodywork up till the early 90s; this guy walked in bent with a cane but still could do wonders with a torch hammer and dolly.

I gotta guy... I was over there last week (they did some work on my company car) and this was in the shop...

1928 Imperial dual cowl...

Thanks for bringing this thread back. I had meant to prod you about it.

I'm hoping you get to the rear springs. I know they're supposed to be straight-forward, but I have them in my future, and it's always nice to see someone else do it first!

No progress with the springs yet unfortunately, been way too busy for the cars lately. Soon I hope.

I began doing a little digging into the early history of this car, not too difficult since I have the certicard. I think the original owner(s) have passed on and I have only just started looking to see if I could find children, etc.. I did find it interesting that the address on the certicard turns out to be an 820 sq. ft. 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house that probably was worth about the same as this car was new...

but it did have a nice view!

Btw, rear main is still holding up just fine and I'm back to the list of things that needed done before driving to Carlisle last year. Acquired a pair of front inner fenders from Murry B. and got one of them stripped, refinished and ready to bolt on, now for the other. I started conditioning the leather and a good cleaning of the rest of the interior. Radio install is next and rear springs, although I might not get to those before Carlisle. It would be nice to have the Auto Pilot working but we'll see, still very busy with work.

I refuse to believe that car fit up the driveway. LOL.
I'm glad you're researching the car, Matt. I enjoy that kind of stuff. Please keep us abreast.
