My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

I figured this was a good opportunity to fix my column so that my reverse lights and parking brake release would finally work and while out on the bench I replaced the steering joint. The old one wasn’t completely shot but certainly not as firm the new ones.

These scratches on the column have bothered me since I bought the car and since I got some factory color put into a rattlecan to do engine room touch-ups I was excited to paint the column too.

The details are very time consuming!
The good news is that the top end I did years ago appeared to be in great shape and so I just transferred everything over. I am so looking forward to getting back to driving this car like I used to.
This time around I’m going with an old CH4B aluminum intake because why not???

Trans is in and I think tomorrow the engine should be in place too, after which I can see what it’s going to take to use the HP manifolds.

I put the HP manifolds on the 440 in my 1968 NYer. If I were making that decision today I wouldn't put them on. They aren't worth it. The passenger side is fine, but bolting the driver side up to the exhaust is a huge pain. I'm fairly certain that you will have to new pipes made to hook up to the exhaust manifolds.

I will try to find out today if the set of B-body HP head pipes I have in my stash can be swapped out easily. The good news is I like fabricating.

So here’s the thing with the left side HP manifolds on ‘67 Imps with Auto Pilot…
It will require getting creative with the linkage if I choose to use them.

Very interested in how this pans out...I plan on the same thing in my 68. I've already sourced a 68 C body driver's side manifold. Looks tight with the brakes too...do you think it may need a heat shield?

I hate to say it but the C-body HP manifold I have here dumps right into the steering joint. The B-body manifold will work.

I've had my eye on this one for a little while but it has been burried in a buddies pull barn so I couldn't get a good look at it, much less see that it ran and could move under its own power. Yesterday we unburried it, got it running after close to 2 years since it ran last and I got to give it a thurough once over. No rust on it having spent most of its life in eastern WA state and AZ before coming to MI on a transport and immediately parked in this building. I mean NO RUST! 135K miles on the odometer and in unrestored, original condition. I am going to leave it where it sits for the winter and work out some electrical issues and some leaks as well as go through the brakes and get the correct carb for it. Made a nice deal on it and look forward to putting some miles on it. Fender tag attached and hopefully a build sheet somewhere in that cavernous interior. Needs a good cleaning but here are some pics.

DAYUHMN! I seldom feel it, but I got a case of N V lookin' at this un! I REALLY want a '66, to paint black and maybe install a pair of M60s in for those nights when I must fight Evil wearing my green mask & such. Need a sidekick who knows kung-fu w it....
