I am totally new to the Mopar Community. I've been a Ford guy forever. But... I just picked up this '65 New Yorker on the way to the crusher. I couldn't help myself, she is Big and Bodacious. She's got a 413. My son in law is a certified mechanic, and we've spent a few weekends covering the basics; ignition, fuel pump, alternator, & plugs. Then, he was able to get her on the road yesterday. I've been at work so I haven't had the chance yet but I'm dying to get home so I can do so soon. just thought I'd post some pics here. as we make progress.

This pic is from the day I towed her home. She was filthy. It's amazing what a good wash will do. I'm going to wash again soon and put a coat of wax on her (God only knows when the last one was).
There a couple of things that I know right now I'll need to get.
1. I need a new hood (Beyond help),
2. the seats are out of something else?!?! I'll post a picture of that soon, it currently has a pillow top style split bench up front with Power drivers (it works). Every picture of I've seen shows a power bench. I'm not sure if the previous owner redid all the tracks? or what. any thoughts?
A couple of general questions...
I have two push button floor switches, one is the brights. what's the other? is it the cruise control (Autopilot)? how does it work?
just below the wipers is a rotary switch with numbers. I have no idea what it is.

:sSig_greetingsthor: ............. :welcome:
Nice save...... I don't have anything bad to say about Fords, but once you get this baby rolling down the road ...... It will steal your heart.
Will.

The second foot swich is probably a channel selector for the sgnal seeking radio, (nice option). The numbered dial on the dash is likely a speed set for the ruise control.

Look under the hood, around the drivers side, for a retangled metal plate with what looks like codes... (they are). Post a picture of it and you'll find out all kinds of things about your new Chrysler.

Here's the pic any help decoding would be great.

Those are chrysler seats? will any year C-Body fit in there?

Well now isn't THIS something. Welcome aboard but be careful...owning an old mopar is a love/hate relationship that will utterly consume you......your gonna forget about ALL else......the Blue what? Sign of the who?...who the hell lives in cleveland? ..lol

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Kool car. I have a decent power bench out of a '68 that would probably work for you but its up here in MI, helluva deal though shipping would likely be prohibitive.

Welcome aboard. Nice save. The car will be a beauty when you are done with it. Look forward to updates of the progress.

I bet however put those in had to mod the mounts and drill holes. I'm sure they don't line up.

Their popularity back them drove them extinct.
Don't believe me? When was the last time you saw a new one.
Gone....
