New Mid-Engine Corvette Revealed This Evening in California - Not Impressed

So... Does anyone know EXACTLY what happened to cause that accident? Or are you all making some assumptions?
 
No but even b-list auto celebs are making fun of it.

i dunno what happened to the blue Vette. i am making educated guesses.

Given that (1) its curvy, winding road section apparently, (2) new mid-engine car design, and car that (3) "likes" and is easily capable of exceeding a novice's drivingcapability, I only assign a subjective probability that is NOT "zero" that the accident is correlated to those three factors somehow.

every new bada*ss car ever introduced (Demon and Hellcat come to mind) has had this happen (or at least publicized more than if a Chevy Volt wiped out on the same road).

still could be a drunk driver, accident avoidance, sun was in his/her eyes .. lotsa other plausible, reasonable causes unrelated to 1-3 above.
 
I've been driving a mid engine sports car for the past 17 years. No problem. Just sayin'
Not one of us knows what happened here. Could be a million different causes for this accident other than inexperience.
Let them sort it out then we can all decide.

BSTL is the acronym for Balls Stuck to Leg.
 
so far, just a traffic accident with a high profile car, with no injuries. occurred on CA Route 120 between Moccasin and Groveland.

Clear the Vette hit something hard enough to tear its driver side front wheel off and deploy both front airbags .. could be that Chevy SUV with the a** missing crossed the center line, got in the Vette's way, and took a big hit.

OR..

Could be Vette lost "control" and crossed over the line clipping the SUV (trying to get outta its way) and then with its front driver wheel gone it plows into the Ford

freely admit i do NOT know the cause, though I do admit bias .. and sorta dont care any more cuz only some cars got hurt. all the people were fine.

i am checking out of this one ... somebody (probably the Vette enthusiasts -- this crash is viral among that group) will sort it out and post the police report or the Go Pro video, or something else now that at least location is pinned down. :)

I agree completely, even after driving my Esprit for 17 years with no "Nannie electronics" I can still scare the BeJesus out of myself. I respect my car and know my limits with it!
