This option carried over into the early 74 models as wellI think that the seat inserts were probably redone at some point. In '73, the Newport was offered with the Navajo option, included seats inspired by Navajo Blankets but with a Navajo copper paint job and similarly colored carpets. This was the "Spring Edition" '73 Chrysler. As far as I know, that was the only year this option was offered, but it was possible to order a lot of different combinations.

Sweet car! Some of the contemporaneous Winnebago/Itasca RV interiors had similar upholstery. Design with character: how quaint!I looking at buying this 76 Newport. I'm liking the interior, a real 70s vibe. Was this a option? I see the door panels are two tone also. Tan on top grey on the bottom. Anybody have any input ? Thanks

That's minor! There were some early 1980s Monte Carlo tan door panels which became THREE colors of PINK as they aged. Upper hard plastic, center soft vinyl, and the lower hard plastic piece. Starting out the same color when the car was new. But being a GM product, this was perceived to be "normal, they all do that".I wonder if the gray hard panels have lost color due either to UV or oxidation. The soft vinyl in my ’74 T&C still has its factory blue color, while all the hard plastic has faded to a greenish hue.
