O MY

Checking the web for the D-G-E emblems needed for the hood, but coming up empty.
Anyone have a these in your parts stash.

The 61 Dodge letters are difficult to locate. Most used ones will have pitting / faded chrome.
Also note that the "center D" on the hood is unique, has a separate part number and does NOT interchange with the other "D"

What are you looking for, driver quality to match what's on the car or really nice ones ?
I probably do not have a complete set but have several individual NOS 1961 Dodge letters available. Send a PM if interested or you're looking for other 1961 Dodge station wagon parts.

I've sometimes wondered about the potential of making hood letters (or simple emblems) out of aluminum on my CNC router.
The OEM font could be duplicated, or something else if desired.
There'd be no way to duplicate the pins/studs, though, so they'd need to attach with small #2 or #4 stainless screws. (allen flatheads)
That would mean the screw locations would need to coincide with the holes in the hood - and there's no guarantee that the screw location would fall in a 'fat' part of the letter where it would fit.
A piece of paper can be taped into place and fingernail-rubbed to get the hole locations, then scan that into a PDF to get into CAD.
Then the available letters can be poked thru the holes, traced around, and that gets scanned next.
Overall, a bit of a reverse-engineering project, but it could be done.
Fortunately, I'm not missing any letters.

@sixpkrt
The D in the center - is it flat or does it match to a peak in the hood?

I didn't know the 2 D's were different until mentioned by SpaceWagon.
The wagon is at a temporary storage location currently so I can't confirm how the middle D is positioned.
I'm pretty sure the back side is relatively flat.
As far a making your own, its a good idea, as long as you have a sample to duplicate.
If the difficulty for placement of the pins in the back of logo is an issue, an option would be to use 3M 2 sided tape, just like what is used on new cars today.

Good idea on the tape, I forget that there are good products out there.
A wooden template could be routed out that the letters fit into to help with alignment.

Still in Illinoisy?

I was in TN with my wife last week and saw 11 properties. Unfortunately, the search continues. We'll be going again soon.
For now, I'm still in the state of high taxes, corrupt politians and high cost of living. Luckily, I have this project to keep me distracted for a while.

At least Madigan got convicted. Whether that will result in anything, who knows.

The only Madigan I knew is a 70s movie with Richard Widmark. so I googled.

82 years old. Statute of limitations is 7 years for all except murder (although some states seem to be going back further in the last few years).
Giving a few years for the arrest/trial, this guy was at least 70 years old and still being a corrupt criminal politician.
Should be off being a grandfather or something. WTF is wrong with some people?

Tim, R U putting a 440 in this car?
Even though I just picked up another car, a B body that came with a NOM HP2 1970 440, I'm leaning towards keeping the Poly is the old girl. It's a good engine, and runs pretty smooth.
The seats are out and the floors will be done by Wyatt soon, as you know he's very capable, and having the skills in patching floors like the job he just finished on your convertible. I saw the work he did, and thought it turned out really nice. I think you'd agree.
I'm also having third row rear facing seat foot well on the wagon fabricated by a friend of SpaceWagon.
I recently got the Bendix carb back from Woodruff Carb and it's already back on the wagon and can now move again under its own power.
Once the floors are done, the brakes need a thorough go over. For now the plan is to swap out the front hubs with the 70 disc brakes that came out of the 70 Newport convertible that I just parted out, run new lines front to back and replace all the soft lines too.
Still need to check the gas tank for any corrosion, but I already plan to replace all fuel lines.
The Pioneer is a project but it's not going to be given a full restoration like was done on the NYer.
Just wanting a cool driver, and that's just the overall plan for O MY.
