OK you truckers...

I want you to buy the UPS dash cam. The one that looks ahead and also looks at the driver.
Keep wanting in one hand and pooping in the other and see which fills up first. I would not like to see this guy driving.
Had a couple of incidences that have warranted investing in one. My buddy has one, and he want to get the 3 camera one so I may take his old one. Not sure why to care if it happens past my doors.

Rained yesterday so bath time today. 60° today so it wasn't bad.

One more week to go till I hang up the keys.

Continuing on my light load theme, I'm picking up styrofoam cups tomorrow, headed for Iowa.

Some shots from the last trip out:

Picked up some empty 275 gallon chemical totes at the Genesee brewing plant in Rochester.

Totes were delivered to an old factory in Cleveland. View attachment 404158

Had some time to kill in Florida and spent much of Sunday at the Garlits museum in Ocala. View attachment 404159

My favorite parking spot at the Circle K, just north of Spartanburg SC. View attachment 404161

Little Honda generator keeps fridge running when truck is off. I wish I had put an hour meter on it, as I'd love to know how many hours of run time it's racked up. It's a lot. View attachment 404160

Modern day Americana: A truck stop and a Waffle House. Check out that diesel price! View attachment 404162

Went for a walk in the nice neighborhood behind the truck stop.

Jeff

I see you have Landstar on the side of your truck.

Have you ever ran across this guy in your travels?
He just got his 25 year pin at Landstar.

Somebody lasted 25 years with Landstar?

Plenty have made 25 years and longer.

Sprinkled in amongst the crap, Landstar has some really cush gigs, most of which are locked down hard by the old-timers. Some are just nice to do and others are lucrative, like $200K plus a year net, in a one truck operation.

Snowflakes push all my buttons. I'd have lost it and beat the **** out of him afrer pulling him out of the truck. I can't stomach these kids.

Shorter stick the transmission, and the longer stick the rear end?

Longer one is the 5 spd main transmission and the shorter one is the auxiliary transmission, looks to be a 3spd. Mack called it a Triplex.

They also had a 5x2 called a Duplex and a 5x4 Quadraplex which was overdrive on the main and auxiliary. All the others only had overdrive on the auxiliary.

Thought I would share. It was a beautiful day Wednesday, cruising with the window down. Had 5 stops that day SW Georgia. Headed back to the home-20.

Hey Kevin ( @twostick ), how about this new heavy haul ride?

I could actually use a tridrive but not at that price point. With the Peterbilt Tax I'm not sure if there would be much change from $300K.

A little, actually a lot late in the game for me to be spending that kind of coin on a depreciating asset. Lol

Nice to look at tho but pretty obvious that salesman has never had to live in one. Looking cool only gets you so far...

And then there is all the emissions after treatment equipment to deal with.
