I always paint the inside and wax the chrome as soon as I get them in the shop.
I looked up the company you used and seen some very very poor reviews...but this makes me question that...those bumpers look excellent! Cant wait to see em on the car!
I thought the MA. State police used Fords in1969, anybody from the area remember? Where are ya Stan?Hey Trev,
I just discovered this tread today. I'm very interested and now following this. I love the vintage police cars. Pretty awesome project you decided to take on, makes me want a one now. Last I knew there was a '69 Polara police cruiser originally from Massachusetts in my state of Connecticut. Not sure if it is still around, haven't see it in awhile. Here is a picture. The "new" bumpers on your car are looking great by the way. Any updates on the rest? View attachment 351220

The 69 Polara is one of the best looking four door Sedans Dodge ever made.Maybe it is a clone, the caption from this picture says it's a clone. Maybe you're right. If it is a clone it's a damn nice one. Would still like to know if the MA police used these or not. Anybody, Alan?View attachment 351298

Have you tried hot sodium bicarbonate soak on the yellow paint? It's baking soda.
Paint should curdle off without affecting the factory finish. ...See what it does to battery terminals.
We once used it to remove paint professionally. Hot wet rags would get what you have left.
I forgot about this car and thread..
No disrespect to anyone else..

Thanks!
Hopefully I can save some for the future generation; but will they even care???
ThanksI’ll give it a try..the spots where the original CHP applied “yellow” will not come off is where the CHP actually aggressively sanded the car or used body filler.
Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it
