What an incredible structure - just incredible! Thanks for sharing these magnificent palaces of a period long gone but not forgotten. Bravo Milwaukee for preserving these amazing homes!

This thread has convinced me that Milwaukee should be one of my next travel destinations, since I love old school architecture, masonry, beer, and German food.

My great grandfather emigrated from Frankfurt, Germany to Milwaukee in 1880 and worked as a master brewer until 1919.
 
Besides the great surviving Victorian era architecture Milwaukee is also the "Machine Shop" of the world! So many great manufacturing companies. Even when I graduated from high school in 1973....I had so many blue collar opportunities.
