Photos of Vintage Auto Dealerships, Repair Shops, and Gas Stations

Former Indy racer Harry Hartz at Robert C. Martin Studebaker dealer in Grants Pass, OR

The cavemen were promoting "Caveman Super Service" at some gas station. They later went on to buy C bodies and joined FCBO.

OK, one more Studebaker pic.

This one is in South Bend Indiana and they bought the rights to build the Avanti II after Studebaker went out.

Built 1949, streamline moderne, for Springfield Buick, 702 A. Street, Springfield, Oregon.

It closed in 2019. Not an economic size/design, let alone this a no longer GM's marketing model for its dealerships (too small, no dualled up, wrong architecture, etc.)

About, 6,000 Sq. Ft, corner lot, in a small town near residential. I bit smaller than I need, too far away from where all my stuff is, etc., as my retirement hobby home but I like it.

Get the neon "Buick" fired up, then I'd move in just like this it were available for my purposes.

Built in 1940's, purchased in 1963 at South Shore Builck, 50 Adams, Quincy, MA. Closed in 2009 after 86 years, ,33,000 sq. ft., now a Planet Fitness.

Architecture suggests the building did not start as a dealership. Its gigantic, and on a huge triangular plot of land. I like its non-industrial look, but this is a suburb of Boston sorta, well outside my hobby retirement house budget.

saturday evening post video. 4 minutes, and gives the brief history of the American gas station. Stuff you (we, if old enough to remember the transition from full service to self service) probably know.

Interesting artchitectures, though few locations are specificially identified.

This car is in it about the 2:30 mark - mgiht even be a members car.
