I don't listen to music so much when behind the wheel of one of the toys, Tiger game maybe. I do have music on all day while I work and when I'm working on the cars though.

The ONLY time I get to listen to music is in the garage and even then sometimes no. I miss it

PBS was just airing The Doors Live at the Hollywood Bowl from '68 over the weekend, what a great concert.

Yeah, I like the Doors "sound"...Manzarek's organ paired with Morrison's voice style & Krieger's guitar made them stand out way back then. Plus the lyrics are deep.

I remember driving my Super Bee and hearing those songs on the radio when those songs were new music. They played the hell out of "Rider's on the Storm". I still enjoy hearing the Doors...mostly from my Ipod these days!

They are at that, Morrison was as much a poet as he was a singer/songwriter.

Yep, he had some songs that were long ramblings that was current with the coffee shop poets/ beatniks of the day. Coffee shop poets were fading by then and Rock & Roll was taking over American youth by then. I would fast forward the 8-track through most of his poetic rambling songs....

I think that stuff is WAY better than some of the BS that passess for music these days...esp. in originality IMO.
