Is there any difference between ring and pinion gear for an open end compared to a sure grip rear end? I have a sure grip with 3.91s and thought about buying this and changing out the gears.

Is the case you want to put the ring and pinion in a 741 as well? The only way to make this work would be to put the sure grip in the housing and gears advertised if it isn't.
