Anyone have experience with this intake?

Says it bolts to a poly.

Reviews say otherwise

(Port layout looks like a Poly A-block rather than the later LA A-blocks?)

I put a Weiand intake on my 1960 Phoenix dart 318 4bbl, it killed low end torque.
I put the factory 4bbl manifold back on it, and it was a much better driving car.
I would look for a factory 4bbl intake.

Weiand built lots of different intakes back then. Like what Edelbrock did, back then.

IF the referenced Weiand-type intake is a single plane intake (as it appears to be), it WILL kill lower-rpm torque because of that design. What I see kind of looks like a tunnel ram plenum with very short intake runners, which can be even worse. For a "normal rpm" small displacement engine, ONLY a DUAL PLANE will offer good lower-rpm torque and drivability. With that much plenum space, the airflow patterns in that plenum must be chaotic.

Just soem thoughts and observations,

it says the Rebel is a dual plane so it should be better than the weiand ?

I was just going by looks of normal dual plane intakes. I would want to see the actual plenum before I would change my mind. NOTR to say that my mind could not be changed!

Every other dual plane iintake I have seen shows the runners from the center plenum being separate for each plane of the manifold. Not just the short sections where they meet the cyl head. LOTS of extra material would be involved to "fill in" those things if it was an actual dual plane, I suspect.

Just some observations,

A 4" stroker crank would solve most of that... lol

It sure looks like a single plane intake by looking at the casting on the underside. Here's a couple photos of the Weiand.

I have never heard or seen a Edelbrock Poly intake.

I just read last night that Toth may have a dual plane coming out. Let me see if I can find the Facebook post.

I will contact him and see if the new intake is a dual plane.
