I used to love this type, a little skilled hand twists and you had a free pop! Also we used to empty the cap catcher and remove the cork seals. Then the caps were attached to our T-shirts using the cork on the inside of the shirt.

yes .. dunno if the machines were aging, or the bottles got a little smaller but i recall tha flip top machine might reward your sleight of hand with a free Nehi.

We collected the cork lined caps for attaching our baseball caps, etc ... and for our "Army Man" weapons

For the young'uns among us, this is a bottle cap gun, powered by rubber bands, sometimes home-made with large clothes pins and scrap wood.

"Yeah, but what's a clothes pin? We, uh, used them on clothes lines. What's a clothes line?" Excerpt from a conversation with my 22 year old nephew I recall from a few years back :)

Land of Confusion...this IS the world we live in brother.

BUT .. thats another thread :)

Go grab a ice-cold Falstaff and kick back if ya can .. oh, sorry. that brand's a "remember when" too.

hadnt considered that chief .. since I am not a big beer drinker.

I do remember a jingle from my youth tho (i may have the words wrong, but something like this/ had a Native American beat)

"From the land of sky blue waters, comes the water best for brewing, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing"

The Good Humor man, Mr. Softee, or whoever cruised through, with their "Pied Piper" music, your 1960's neighborhood. My favorite? Bomb Pops!
