You do some amazing work Chris!
Hi,
is your 70 Ply a RR?
If so have you painted the rear panel black because you like it? Or is it a GTX missing a lot of trim?

You do some amazing work Chris!
I do have a '70 GTX, but this one is a Road Runner... I bought the car about 22 years ago, and the majority of the rear panel was already repainted flat black. I had an extra set of GTX tail lights and repainted the outer ring of the panel the original orange, and the deepest inset I painted gloss black being the same area as the black area on a GTX.
BARN FIND... without the barn 70 RR
Word of mouth led me to this 70 Road Runner near me. Complete car minus engine and trans. Looks to have been a 383 auto column. RM21
It looks like it's been sitting for there for a long time. The rust I could see is typical and less then average for these cars. It was a vinyl top car which explanes the rust in the C piller and rear window frame. 1/4's not to bad, fenders and under hood area looked good.
I didn't open the doors but could view the interior through the vent glass. No visiable daylight in the floors and dash and seats looked pretty good and original. Don't know about the trunk floor.
I was told the asking price was $4500.00.... Probably some wiggle room there.
Will.
Good deal! Another one saved!
I hope we can see the restoration process.
He's a young fellow .... lots of energy...LOL. He already has taken delivery of a bunch of the parts needed for the project. I asked him to keep me updated on the progress....
I told a good friend of mine about this car right after I found it. He regretted selling his 69 orange 69 Super Bee a couple years ago and I thought he would be interested in this one. He dragged his feet.... I didn't.I didn't think this one was going to sit to long. I know where there's a good deal to be had on a 70 Satellite that was being cloned into a RR including an Air Grabber hood that's complete. This car is virtually ready for paint and is just missing the big block running gear. Let me know if anybody's interested.
Please share anything he sends to you I'd like to see that car come back to life!\
Nick
There was a very interesting turn of events with this car..... The windshield was cracked and delaminated and it made the VIN hard to read. Add to that a small scratch across the dash VIN tag made the 5th digit appear to be a "N", (383), as I was told by the fellow I got the car from. Once the windshield was removed it became evedent that the code was a "U".... An original 440 4bbl A/C car....!!!His handle is smb03 on FBBO. He's still around but not updated the RR thread lately. Here's a link to his resto thread over at FBBO here's a link to some photo's he's got of photobucket .

In addition Chrysler historical shows the car was built for either an executive or for inhouse purposes..... It was never delivered to a dealer..... Wish it could talk....
