I have a 1966 Newport, with the split front bench seat and the solid rear seat.
The vinyl is trashed and I can’t find any premade covers that say they will fit, anyone know anything that will fit from a different car ? Or have any recommendations on how I should go about it ?

Never have been any pre-made "kits" for these cars. Otherwise, just universal-fit aftermarket items. None of the universal-fit items will be specifically for any vehicle, just the style of the seat.

Is this a two-door with the lean-forward backrests? Or a true 50-50 split bench front seat, where each side of the bottom cushions moves independently of each other, on a 4-dr? BIG difference!

From the looks of things, you probably need all new foam, due to age and exposure to "the elements".

Just some thoughts,

Check your local marketplace and craigs. People in my region want about $800 to re upholster a bench seat.

Also keep an eye out for C bodies of the era on the same platforms. Always check these when you are traveling to a new area. That one of my favorite things to do. I recently missed a set of front and rear seats out of an imperial for under $200. I should have taken a couple hours off work and grabbed those for my new yorker. Some times these cars get parted or derived and you can get some leather seats out of an imp for cheap.

Kenneth Weinstein sells NOS aftermarket true fit seat covers. He adverstises in the WPC News, and is likely to have the proper fit for your seats, they just won't be in the original material.

He is a certified accountant, but has a stockpile of covers.
