Agreed, although all are based on Gene Stoner's original design. The M4 was an evolution from the M16 A3/M4. Feed ramps were incorporated into the locking lugs to improve feed performance and the 16" barrel became standard on most models. The M4 is a much improved design over the M16A1 that I carried and much less likely to jam. Some of the late variants have a redesigned extractor as well. Never did quite get over having to turn over my M14 for a M16.

A lot of those vehicles were sold as "surplus" several years ago, to local law enforcement operatives, via auctions. Putting real military items in the hands of locals, when such was popular to do. Firearms, too. After a lot of publicity of that, I think they scaled-back those property auctions?

They were not "sold". They were loaned. Feds still own them.
 
I have not heard details on this. The coward that shot up the Synagogue in PGH. was a real angry guy till the first bullet pierced his skin then he was mister ok, ok, I surrender, which only means he was not taken care of on the spot.

Not really....these are old 1st Gen MRAP vehicles that are stripped down. The Army and Marines wouldn't let troops get in these types of MRAP's anymore on the battlefield.
 
20 years ago half the office desks in that bank would have a heavy glass ashtray on it, I would like to think even a heavy object to the Head would take a shooter out.

To be honest there are far more people in this country that qualify as either stupid or, in this case, senseless than most realize which is the scary part about it.
