One more try.

Very kool, can't wait to see it in person!

Much better pics! Looking good Ross!! I'm kinda liking the more satin finish. Looks great in the garage. But doesn't go well with the chrome up front. I'll hold out until you redo it. Great job!

I like it with the chrome. There's a bunch of trim missing on the front.

much better, looking forward to seeing the finished product. I'm thinking of dipping my 66 Charger. Funds are tight with 3 projects so if I can get away with not painting it for a while that would be nice on my wallet.

You really need to see it in person before you decide to like it or not. It has a lot of texture. Satin/matte is also not for everybody.

i've been researching the glossifier and metalizer. the body shop that has my fury has started dipping whole cars. so i've got a way to see the texture and some different colors. but yes, satin/matte isnt something everyone likes.

I guess I missed something are you leaving it satin or are you going to clear it? I read earlier in the thread you were mixing black with clear

You could kinda convinced me with the wire wheel wide Whites Imperial against better judgement; it's not gonna happen with this one. I still insist it should be mauve. ;)

OK. It looks good. I kinda like it.

I'll take that as a major victory. :rolling: Way better than what I was expecting.

You didn't miss anything but it didn't turn out as expected. The instructions from dipyourcar.com were to mix the black & clear at a 1:1 ratio in order to achieve a gloss finish. That didn't work & I've abandoned my efforts to glossify & have accepted that it will be satin.

The mauve ship has officially sailed. In fact, under hood, bottom of trunk lid & door jambs are all painted with Napa flat-black from a rattle can. The dip will peel back off but the Napa black will not...
