I'm rebuilding my front end in the 67 Fury wagon and when I pulled out the strut rod, the bushings of course were shot but also the inner metal sleeve has seen better days. I've looked online and can't find new ones anywhere. Does anyone know a source for these?

What does the sleeve look like? I'm shopping for strut rod bushings right now, and I saw this kit by Rare Parts on the Just Suspension website:

Is that little sleeve thing what you're talking about? Do I need to be thinking about getting these sleeves as well as the bushings? I'm hoping to stay with the OEM-style bushings and avoid the "improved" design that Moog was selling a while back. Will probably be buying my parts in the next few days, too.

Thanks for the great question!

Thanks Claire,
It's more of a one piece shaft without the added washer on the end. I didn't think about finding some pipe that fits and make my own like Ross said.

I would think copper is too soft, and also would corrode very quickly.

I would look for black iron pipe... or stainless if affordable. Stainless may be too brittle though.
