Summit thermostat relay for electric fan and temerature guage

Is there another spot to put the temperature gauge fitting into besides the water pump housing? I am going to use that spot for the thermostat control for my electric fan. It is a Chrysler 383 B Block. Also I have a 180 degree thermostat and the kit is 185 on and 170 off will that be a problem or should I buy this adjustable temp kit from summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g4959/overview/

I tapped the freeze plug hole in the head and used that spot.
Worked for me

what fan are you using, and how are you powering it? did you get a relay?
