The 1965 Polara/Monaco/880 thread!!

Dodge Monaco & Polara 65-66 Lower Quarter Panel 2 Door

Anyone ever hear anything about these ^^^? I am thinking I may give them a go. As I stated before, I am not experienced when it comes to doing body work. I would maybe be tempted to give these a try.

General update on my rebuild: Pulled the engine...have it torn down. Looking for shops in my area to help with the rebuild. Just ordered some parts to begin rebuilding the braking system.

I would ask then what gauge the "heavy duty" steel is. This is a very generic statement.

I believe its 20 Gauge. Original was 16 I believe. My body guy is using a set just because I have it already.... but he might just use them as a template and build a set in heavier steel.

thats how i'd do it . factor in that there chinese crap metal , even there made here . its a fact of life . washington state steel is what you want , if you can find it . most of the steel used to come from back east in the usa . but today i'm not sure if there is any .

US Steel still operates plants across the US, most in the east, three plants in the Pittsburgh area alone but one is a tubular plant. There is also AK Steel headquartered in West Chester, OH with several plants in OH and PA .

It will be a crap shoot
This year range has totally different body lines
65-66 are identical
67-68 are identical
69-70 are identical

I may be wrong but this will not cover all the years listed with a single panel
Its actually year specific. If you go on the site they sell a different set for 67/68 and 69/70.

Saw this thread and it jogged my memory... I have a set of white buckets and rear seat, console (tachs gone), and maybe still the package tray and plastic seat “fillers” thingys if anyone’s looking. Drivers front needs covered

PM sent!

If I'm not mistaken, he parted a Monaco, so it will be the full length console with the interrupted rear seat. My memory may not be totally accurate though..........

The rear seat was one piece. Had a dip in the middle of seat back where the package tray filled. The fillers and rear deck were painted an old color of green iirc. When the ice clears I’ll see what I still have n get pics
