The kah-kah'z gettin' too deep around here

There isn't a house down here that won't blow your head off if you mistakenly knock on their door at 3:00 AM.

We just ousted the numnuts governor that raised our gas and diesel taxes to the highest in the country and gave the money to public transportation, because they will spend it wisely
I was no fan of Corbett over the gas tax issue either, but the prices are still cheaper than our neighbors to the north by 20 cents a gallon, but I voted for the lesser of two evils.... I just hope the "new governor" (Tom Wolf), that you were so proud to elect, doesn't ban my assault rifles, raise my school taxes, raise my small business tax, raise my state income tax, let more women get unfettered abortions, allow teacher unions to run rampant with my money, take our act 13 money away, legalize pot, raise the minimum wage to 10.10 an hour for some idiot that's only worth 1/2 that, won't sign any death penalty warrants, close the coal industry down because of some bullshit global warming scam, like he promised on his campaign trail!
Just sayin

Its difficult to uproot yourself. Jobs, mortgage, kids , parents, complacency with your surroundings. Its a cycle that is hard to break for the average person. If you have nothing it is easy to move on. If you have everything it is easy to move on. ....... We should have left Jersey 15 years ago.... But now I'm locked in

The only thing holding you back is you. It's all in your mind the reasons you can't leave. Life's too short to live in a shite hole.

Yea. I'm just dumbfounded how Wolf got over. Well, maybe not quite. Wolf put him away, but Corbett had a hand in his own demise. And Wolf kept hammering away the lie that Corbett cut education which meant inner city kids were destined to end up in prison. Seriously. Corbett never addressed that. I really don't think he wanted to be reelected...he was too lackadaisical towards all the accusations leveled against him. Too late to fire his campaign strategists. I wonder if they got paid anyway. Of course they did.

I'm not going to argue with you, you have your agenda I have mine they don't match. Since we are the subject of agendas I will add some points I would like to see change in pa. just to see if I can get a laugh from you.
1. Get rid of the auto mechanics welfare system that is state safety inspection and its associated baggage/cost
2. Pa turnpike commission needs dissolved ASAP there is no fixing it.
3. Sell off state run liquor stores this system makes us look so backward compared to the rest of the country.

I should have moved to Ohio 22 years ago before I bought my house. Now ain't going to happen, and I could keep the same job.

I had high hopes when he got elected, he is from my side of the state, promised to get rid of the giant state car fleet. His education cut was lazy and solved nothing it just shifted the burden to school districts that are just going to raise property taxes instead of using it as leverage he just slid it off his plate and made a mess that will not be fixed at all. His transportation bill is maybe palletable if the money is put back into roadway infrastructure but to take money from fuel tax, that you have a hand in paying in new jersey because every truck that drives through pa on its way to you pays tax per mile to pa., and he gave part of it away to public transportation so that they can continue to operate bus routes that nobody is riding. Using that logic, I used to get loads from Wellsboro Pa. I liked going there when the loads no longer ran the state should have stepped in and gave me money because I liked/previously went there so I could continue, yeah right. That is why I did not vote for him a second time miss guided or not

Well i moved from that dumb *** state of NY... PA IS still better than there by a long shot... I just didn't want it to take a turn for the worse. We'll have to see what he does. I'll give him a chance...
However, just for the record TC WAS for getting rid of the liquor debacle and privatizing the turnpike..whereas TW was not

Privatization of the Turnpike is not the answer ask Indiana higher tolls, the worst shape it has ever been in. It just needs to be run properly. I don't think they will ever privatise the liquor stores too much money to be made on them. Here's hoping. No thoughts on the useless safety inspection? Just curious, I think its a obsolete requirement and way to intrusive with little benefit.

I have four of my cars registered antique... No inspection needed on those. However the only inspection they really need to lose is the emissions one and I think they are gonna drop that. As far as safety inspection...i don't know ....there are lots of pieces of crap on the road that shouldn't be.
In NY any light on whatsoever is immediate fail. They scan the window sticker, plug the OBD into Albany, scan the sticker and scan the mechanics license , they even have a camera on the shop computer to make sure the guy inspecting the car is who he says he is! Talk about bullshit! Like Nazis up there. I pray that never happens here

Is the emission inspection in New York OBD II only or do they do a tailpipe inspection as well? OBD II picks up problems well before a tail pipe emission inspection would (i.e. putting a car on a dynamometer and running it under load and sampling tail pipe emissions). Here in California, they still make us do both on the 1996 and newer cars. A waste of money to do both on the later cars. But the shop owners have a strong lobby so they can keep their money coming in for the tailpipe test. Just a waste.

I don't believe they do tailpipe stuff..at least I've never seen it where I go. To me it's all a waste of money. It's bad enough that the epa jacked the price of cars up, by forcing more and more emission standards. Let them go tell the Chinese to clean up their act! Where you can't even see across the after cuz the smog is so bad. Think we've done enough!

Hey, you'll get no arguments out of me. I will be the first to admit Corbett wasn't perfect-not by a long shot, yep..he did some very unconservative minded things....BUT Wolf????? Well I guess we'll see how it plays out for you guys over there. It always makes me nervous when I hear any politician say "we've GOT to make "investments" in this, we've GOT to make "investments" in or "I'll make the gas companies pay up" (that's a direct quote). Typically with the lefties "investment" is code speak for taxes....as in higher to pay for the grandiose programs. Not a good omen I say.

Exactly! We up here in Tioga and the rest of the drilling counties are putting up with all the bs from the drilling activity. From that we get act 13 money to help offset the damage to the infrastructure etc, being done. If he rams his severance tax thru all that money we get will disappear and go to the general fund to be pissed away on who knows what. There's a law in the state that says you can't have the severance tax and the impact fee(act 13). It's either one or the other, so naturally the Libs see a pot of gold up here and want at it

"General fund" = Philadelphia Public School System.
