I too fall in love too easy. Not brand loyal. Just loyal to American iron. But if not for imports, my buisness would have no buisness.

Stan, you are a poet. Truer words have not been spoken. I bought my Plymouth because it is just like me. Cool. If it were an Impala, Galaxy, or a Olds, I prob would have passed.

So..... how about posting a pic of a car you have fallen in love with but could not buy?

Its not the actual car as I dont have the photos anymore, but it was a black 1972 Imperial Coupe, one owner, 40K miles, 440 U-Code, Sure-Grip, power everything, on and on. A race car disguised as a big, formal luxury coupe.

It was in 1990, I saw it on the way to the airport for an overseas trip, left my business card on it, the owner "beeped" me before I boarded, I used a "pay phone" to call back and made appointment to meet him when I returned, did in fact arrive there six days later....just as new owner was handing him a bank envelope with the cash. Literally saw the handshake that sealed the deal as I was pulling up.

The significance of this particular car and this particular year is kinda personal to me as we all have our reasons...other than in my case feeding my "urge" to buy as many as I can afford...for our attachments to these machines. Let's just say it would have been nice to have had it. But, hearing the gentleman's story about what the car meant to him, and learning who he "sold" it to, it wound up in better hands than mine.

I still selfishly felt bad I didnt get it, but at the same time was OK with it in the end. but i have never seen another one like it since, and now that I'm downsizing the fleet the opportunity is gone.

Its hard to explain to others why we love these cars, whatever cars they are that we each like. Yes, they are just "things"..I think we all get that. But man-oh-man...an older collector explained to me once about 30 years ago that there's fine line between a "hobby" and an "illness". For me, if there is such a "line", I have found myself on both sides of it :happy3:

Thanks for starting the thread Mr. Fix It and those who decide to toss in their inputs.[/QUOTE]

You are welcome.

That's quite the story plus a great styled car as well.

Thanks for sharing it as well.

I'm happy too to see now we are getting some where with this thread!:sSig_thanks:

Will you guys stop posting photos of that.....damn it!

Only thing I have for trade is a 2005 grand caravan, so no 2015 Challey for me either.

You like those PMs don't you

yeah i do. while trying to "learn the ropes" of this site, and without draggin' everybody through my learning curve, i figured thats one of the reasons for the PM functionality. thanks again in any event.

That I fall in love with most of the cars for sale and want to buy them!!!

Too many cars and too few $$$$$$
:crybaby2:

Don't even get me started on where I would store them :D

Here's the latest one...

I'm not clear .. did you buy it or it got away or you don't have room for it?

I got a ride in one of those once.... With a guy that wasn't afraid of using it for what it was intended for. He said "Usually I wouldn't use that third pedal (the clutch) when I shift it this hard... but this cars a little "special".

That's the best thing I've read all day!

never bought a "new" car. Never will if I don't get enforced by law.

All my cars I ever owned are older than I am with the exception of a 72 Sport Suburban and a 72 Scamp.
