If the interior was nice...I wouldnt have done it. I do plan on doing the second thing as soon as I find another lady worthy of my time.

I say good on ya for using the old wagon..... I would have no issue doing what you did even if the interior was in a lot better shape. ;That is why we have cardboard and painters tape....;)

I once hauled a bunch of eight foot 2x4's (10-15 pcs??) in my 70 Sport fury 2dr.....had no other way to get them home so I removed the rear seat and fed them through the trunk into the interior....have a pic somewhere. ;) I also hauled home a 331 Hemi in the 68 T/C wagon....drove 3 hours one way to get it.

This was the debut weekend for the Servprolara! Everyone loved it. Even the Winnabago County Sheriff had to pull me over to check it out...
It ran perfect all weekend. Just cruised over to Volo Saturday morning and it was just a PERFECT day! I love this Polara.

First time back home in almost 50 years. Born 1/8/1969. It felt really good to actually drive a Belvidere car back to the mothership for a change.

I'm getting ready to drive this old lady to Carlisle in a couple weeks.

Going to do shocks all the way around as well as the moving steering parts and U joints as some cheap insurance. It's already got a fresh tune up. Timing chain. New fuel pump. New water pump. 26" rad. Newer tires and a very solid spare. Brake shoes have plenty of life left on em. I repacked the front bearings already as well.

What else would you guys look into before a 1600 mile round trip?

Spare coil,alternator,voltage regulator,ballast resistor.. and..starter relay (MANNNNYYY!!)
With a 318,you should do fine.
Remember to do the electrical like I suggested.

AAA towing card,Jesus on the dashboard and a gas can with gas in it.
Cheers

I may upgrade to a mini starter from a dodge truck to help draw less juice from the battery in the event of a starting issue.

Also must make sure I can charge my phone via the cigarette lighter.
