The Servprolara

I may upgrade to a mini starter from a dodge truck to help draw less juice from the battery in the event of a starting issue.

Also must make sure I can charge my phone via the cigarette lighter.
To avoid any starting issues make sure the ignition system is up to snuff.
Take the money from the mini starter and buy/install Pertronix and get rid of the points.

Ditto charging system. Bypass the bulkhead connector for the ammeter gauge and do the shunt under the hood.
take an el cheapo solar battery charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter Just in case..you do have the roof to hold a few of them!

Spare coil,alternator,voltage regulator,ballast resistor.. and..starter relay (MANNNNYYY!!)
With a 318,you should do fine.
Remember to do the electrical like I suggested.

AAA towing card,Jesus on the dashboard and a gas can with gas in it.
Cheers
Haha you and Nick are never gonna let me forget that. I'm getting a new one this week.

The more you drive it before hand helps show the things that will cause problems. I do carry tools, 5 gallons of gas and a spare set of belts. Anyway how many miles have you put on it so far?

About 1000. Maybe a little more.

Happy 4th of July FCBO!

So here is where the Servprolara stands right now...
New KYB shocks
New tie rods
New Idler arm
New U Joints
Replaced the output shaft seal on the trans
Solid state Voltage regulator #VR706
Put some new fittings on the ball joints and flushed out all the old grease
Took it for an alignment yesterday

I drove it around town a lot today and it stayed cool and ran perfect all day in the 90 degree heat.

Theres a few things I need to do before I hit the road early next week for Carlisle.
- 3 rubber fuel lines ( tank to the body, body to the sub, sub to the fuel pump)
- brake hose for the rear axle
- belts
- oil and filter
- H4 headlight harness and relays
- dimmer switch
- possibly 2 freeze plugs.

They dont look the greatest and I'm not sure I want to try and fix that issue on the side of the road. But the invention of rubber freeze plugs can help ease the hassle.

Other then those items I'd like to try and figure out some tunes since I am making the drive alone. Also would like to dye the better door panels I have and install them in addition to hand waxing the car and polishing up all the chrome.

Got a busy weekend ahead of me. Stay tuned.

Rain-X...and pack a couple exterior bulbs 1156 and 1157, and a low beam headlight. Those roundys can be hard to find when you need one.

Well I got the door panels dyed black. Both passenger side panels came from the Gold donor wagon, the drivers side came from a 69 Polara sedan going to the derby and @LocuMob went and pulled all 4 and a Dashboard with nice pad.

I used flat black duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint. Overall happy with the outcome.

Also this morning I went to LKQ and pulled the somewhat recent carpet from the police fury. It's not correct, but it's not shreaded and pre trimmed to fit a C body worth 12 bucks to me! Should enhance the appearance of the wagons interior vs the bare floors it has now.

Why would I stop? This is how I work the bugs out of my cars, this one just got lucky enough for the 1600 mile coolant flush. I did start having issues again this afternoon when I got up to I80 from Carlisle. I stopped at a walmart, made a mess on the ground. Got some thermocool by evaporust, filled it up with water and were cool again. Now I lost half my cluster lights. I'm stopped for a while in Ohio. I need to rest my eyes.
