The Servprolara

I do need a core 67-9 BBD 2bbl if anyone has one they are willing to donate? I had a screw break off and it needs to be replaced. Also I just noticed another freeze plug weeping a little bit...it may just have to come out after all, I'm not chasing freeze plugs all summer. Plus I can clean and paint the engine, do the oil pan gasket, clean the pickup out, etc.

Love the photo. How about the following for a period look?

Swapped the cluster from the donor wagon in and...I have gauges! The fuel gauge was a nice bonus considering I was really wanting the temp gauge. However the speedo needle bounces around like crazy and it'll have to be pulled back out and cleaned up. Been driving it around town quite a bit and even got it on I-39 for about 10 miles. Just cruised right along at 75 mph!

I may have a BBD 2bbl 1-1/2 for a ‘68 383. I believe the 318 used the 1-1/4. It was in pretty rough shape, but I needed the bowl vent. I can check and see if the adjustment screws are free or if they are frozen in place. Am in Jacksonville FL for the week, but should be able to check Friday afternoon when I get home. You may have to remind me if you haven’t found anything else better before then.

More tinkering...
I got the window motor and regulator back in and attached to the glass. It works from the dash but not the key which is kind of a disappointment. But it works! Also got the latches greased up and dual action tailgate working correctly.

The rear window doesnt seem to roll all the way up but I imagine that's from the seal being destroyed.

Those dual action tail gates are pretty complex especially in the latching area. Very minor adjustments make a big difference in how everything works. Great to see the glass working again.

Spent some time on the wagon yesterday....
Round 2 of interior cleaning and it's still a mess...but its better.

Also started to clean up the paint a little. I think it should look good with some more elbow grease.

Everytime I tried to leave the shop last night it would start dumping rain so...I just kept tinkering I did the following...

Repack front wheel bearings
Adjust drums
Fuel filter
Distributor cap
MSD coil
Changed driver remote mirror
Changed the flasher
Changed a tail light
Bypassed the heater core (shes a leaker)
Painted the interior panel for tail gate.

Also I got the dash lights to work better...well actually I didnt do much of anything besides hit a pothole and half of the cluster lit up very bright...so I smacked the top of the dash and the rest promptly lit up! Fixed.

Geeze that wagon is solid, 3rd row footwell is exceptional...you're very fortunate! The next rainy day that I'm off work I'd like to swing by, check it out, and pick up that big block radiator.

Should be a lasting repair... make sure to charge lots of diagnostic time and try to quit the job before it comes back.

Well I just diagnosed that you have some grounds deep in the dash frame to find, clean and tighten... do I get half the diag labor?
They came back
The dash will be coming back out at some point this summer to swap in a better pad @LocuMob picked up for me. That's when I'll make it all better.

Fixed the lock cylinder window switch! The hot lead was corroded in the pig tail so a couple pieces of heat shrink and some slide connectors and its functioning! I knew I didnt need the NOS switch...always be a good spare!

Now that the inside of the tailgate is done I was able to close up the rear panel for good!
