somehow true.
There are not many people out there willing to perform a major resto on a C-body.

And a 440 engine/727 trans are not a major deal. They aren't cheap anymore but can be bought easily. Not like any SFGT

Exactly! So what if the original 440 is gone? A non-numbers-matching drivetrain means no worries about breaking it if you like to play hard. Is there a more rare or desirable model of C-body than this one? Yet at a measly $1K I'm not seeing much interest. I think if I can't find a home for mine in the next year or so I'll back-half it and make a fun pro-street car out of it. Easier than a restoration and better than throwing it away. And who knows, maybe it'll get some value back as a novelty item.

It's worth a grand if it has a VIN plate and a data tag. Assembly sheet would be a bonus.
A little while ago I was talking like this about a 69 CHP Polara and everybody was ready to send out the lynching party.

These days I think I'd go for the Polara instead. I must be getting grumpy and jaded or something. Though to be fair, my '71 Fury two-door is for sale and my '72 Fury 440 sedan is not, so maybe I'm just going crazy.

I'm not sure, the first picture shows the car sitting level. I'm thinking the engine and trans are still in the car in the first picture. This isn't too far from me if anyone is interested.

Would you be willing to take a look at it providing you can get in touch with him ? So we can get an honest opinion . I would just go but it's about 6hrs away from me according to google .

I'll still go if you can't . Once I get to talk to him .

Me too , considering I need to sell some of what I have . BUT it's calling to me . I truly like different cool cars . I would rather short sell something & get this than regret not at least making sure it's too far gone .

The ad was 6hours on CL , i send him a mail and he would take pics the next day and send them over to me................nothing .
Send him 2-3 mails later that week...........nothing!!??
You never know but i have the feeling it,s to far gone....

I hope it's not , but at the same time I need it to be HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

Did he give you the VIN ?

What could the VIN be ? U , T or K ?

I agree with all of that except the finding a 440 part. I rarely see loose ones around here for sale anymore. Within a few years it's gonna be a 5.9 stroker world to get some HP.

I also think maybe the enthusiast pool is getting smaller. I've owned C-bodies since I was 21 (so 20+ years) and I can tell you I have reduced interest in doing heavy work anymore. I see the this CL car and all I see is a money pit that can eat up $8000 easily and not look much different than it does now. It would probably be worth it if it needed to be resold, but I just don't have $9000 + shipping to spend on a car like that.

So it's a real-deal '71 GT for $1000 and nobody will step up to the plate. No wonder I can't get rid of my '71 Fury III with 440 for $3K. I think I'm finally convinced that these cars are a lost cause- unless they're absolutely perfect, then people will consider paying about half what they should be worth.
You have experienced the 2nd of Mopar's Laws, only buy what you love and wouldn't mind keeping forever. As for this one, 10 days out and no response, it may already have a Chebbie small block and headed for the derby.

We should start a "gofundme" account to raise the postage to Canada...there's a crazy guy up there who would make it new again:poke:

so I it seems there is a lot of interest.
Might be sold already just the ad is still up

@fury fan: 440s might not be around everywhere by private parties but by dealers anyway. If you want a 440 you can buy it in various stages all day long. Just a question of coin

For those looking to know what's up with this GT. I text the owner on Friday and looked at this today. The car is 100% complete #'s motor and tranny are with the car. He wants $1000.00 for the car and $1000.00 for the drive train. When I found out this GT was complete I had to go and see it. The owner bought the car to restore but was overwhelmed by the amount of work and RUST!

OK, that is were the good ends. This car is rusted very bad. Frame rails are all gone Hood, Doors, Fenders and Trunk lid are all rusted. Front sub frame is rotted very bad. Passenger frame rail is rusted before and after the spring mounts, Driver side is gone thru out. Trunk floor is gone, Floors are rusted thru. Interior is there, but is rusted from the seat rails to the springs in the seats. Dash is cracked and what can't crack is shot. This car was put away wet every time.

The rear is painted the same color as the car it has air shocks as well.

Very sad. Pics to come soon.
