Better than a Vega.

My brother had a 1972 Pinto as his first car. Already the mechanic he modified the 2.0 engine and upped compression to 11.0:1. Already light, and with the 4 speed, that car was SCARY FAST.

On the other hand my mother had a 74 Pinto wagon that I could actually beat on foot from a standing start across an intersection. I remember parking that car, on the street, in front of the Ford dealer where she got it for two days. The sign said "This lemon sucks". Within a three days we were contacted by Ford regional to please bring the car in an to sort out the issues. Imagine if there were video cameras then and I could upload the race where I beat it across an intersection. Nonetheless, the other stunt worked.

2004 Cavalier 5 speed. Has aftermarket turbo technics intercooled t/3/t4 setup . has many upgrades installed, front strut bar, sway bars , 3'' full magnaflow exhaust . Short throw shifter . Runs like a beast once warmed up. Totally rust free .
The Bad: clutch slips when turbo starts to boost. Currently running @ 6 psi.
right front wheel bearing needs replaced
odometer comes and goes but is clocking mileage 89k now
Backfires when down shifting, needs a turbo tune.
The good : rust free body
New tires ,brakes ,battery.
It is a clutch away from being a solid 13-12 second car.

I bought this car for my son to drive but it attracts too much unwanted attention from cops. It is fast as hell and would be great for someone who wants to take it to the next level. Clear title in hand CASH ONLY NO TRADES !!

This isn't a Craigslist listing this time. I ran across this in Cars in Barns. It concerns the second car down a 73 Charger SE. Read the short story. I do like the punch line at the end when the owner says it is safely back in his custody. That is safe :realcrazy::mad:
