Torker 440 Intake Manifold/Hood clearance on a slabby??? ('66 Newport)

anyone running a 440 with a Torker intake manifold on a slab-side car??? my sonoramic long ram plan pretty much didnt work out so i might use a Torker 440 ive been hoarding... anyone know if theres enough room under there for it???

I ran a TM-7 intake on a 65 fury with no real issues with hood clearance. I think I did get a drop base air cleaner for it.

Is it a Torker or Torker II?

Torker II is shorter or appears to be. I had a Torker on a 68 RR and it fit that but needed low profile cleaner. IIR a 68/9 un-silenced fit

I run a Performer (non RPM) intake with a drop down base and about a 2" filter and my lid contacts the hood on my 66 Polara, don't even use a hold down nut. Not sure they difference between that and the Newport for clearence. I believe the Torker is taller.

hmmmm something to think about - may have to scrounge up a stock intake from somewhere and get some measurements - thanks a bunch for the input fellas, much appreciated!

its a Torker440, not a TorkerII - and i think youre right, the Torker440 does seem taller.
