Uncle Charlie's Fury

The comments under the video stated that it sold for $38,000.00. He was able to talk the guy down $2000.00. I wonder how he felt when he went home to tell his wife?

Wow.
This is arguably at or near of the top of the list of most valuable Fuselage.
Honored that you chose FCBO.

I am surprised at the single snorkel air cleaner.

Reading that reminds me why I despise MCG. They say they've seen a lot of C bodies, they usually don't give them a glance. So, this car must be remarkable to have them lower their sun glasses to have a closer look.

I am wondering if anybody (not only Police departments) could order a 285 (net) hp Police Pursuit Special engine in their Fury. That engine was not listed in the data book nor the sales brochure as being a regular option for the Fury.

I am also wondering why a magazine like MCG misspells it the "Belvedere, Illinois plant".

Im glad it went for that. Good to see a c body getting love..Hard to believe the price increase
I remember when it was 15K, for a while it just went from one flipper to the next.

All of the engine part numbers and info I can find, list the engine as a H/Perf and not police exclusive in the 1972 Chrysler dealer parts book. I think it is safe to say that more than Pursuit package cars could have this engine. Interestingly (to me anyways) was the 72 New Yorker I owned. It had a engine code E85, non hp440. Factory Holley carb. The air cleaner it came with had the dual snorkel with one snorkel bigger than the other.

The engine itself probably is no Police exclusive. The 1972 Plymouth Data Book lists a 280 net horsepower 440-4bbl with dual snorkel air cleaner as an option for the Road Runner (only). Biggest one listed there for the Fury is a 230 horsepower 440 with dual-snorkel air cleaner. On another page, the very same book lists a 440-4bbl (no horsepower stated) with single snorkel as the biggest engine available for the Fury. The respective page from the 1972 Plymouth Police brochure mentions a 285 horsepower 440-4bbl. for the Fury.
