Usa v euro

All I see is junk.

The Charger would be ok, but this one is not an RT, it has painted bumpers, too and I can see so many flaws that I know it is a pieced together turd. No, thanks.

Despite from that the whole comparison doesn't make sence.
Those ugly modern cars often have AWD and will outperform any old, original muscle car in acceleration on the street.
We don't even have to think about high speed, cornering or anything else.
But then: Who cares?

Who wants to compare soda and lemonade?

The topis should be "USA v. Japan, with one Euro car thrown in!"

I'd take the Charger and the Skyline.
That euro cars got 500 bhp under the hood I just put the 2 japan cars in as a comparison along with the charger it woul be a close call between them all

I am making a comparison on the different engine sizes .I am just saying the iconic 68rt charger would hold its own against modern japan and euro cars that I have listed .And don't call a sierra cosworth junk 500 bhp out of a standard 2ltr right out the factory ain't junk

I haven't seen a Merkur in at least 15 years, and I wouldn't take a Jap "car" even if it was free. Put a Hellcat Challenger up against the other new cars for a comparison.

I'd never buy one, but those Skylines are the equivalent of a modern day big 3 muscle car. They aren't pieces of crap, even if you don't like them.

The post was about old against new not new v new . But the hellcat is one hell of a motor

to me they are all looser cars.
They don't have enough cubic inches:busted:

I see a few Skylines showing up around here. They're all right hand drive cars too. Their owners seem to all be under thirty.

I've always been mainly interested in North American cars, even leaning more toward full-size cars. I guess it's because those were the cars that I saw parked on my street when I was a kid.

Yeah, I agree it would've been cool if Mopar would have built a 300M with a Hemi in the sixties. A Monaco or Polara RT with a Hemi option would've been nice too. Optional 4-Speeds would've been a must! :)

Yeah, I guess you could more or less get a C-Body R/T, minus the name and Hemi, if you knew what to order.

Are we comparing the new Euro/Japan cars to OE Chargers? The Chargers and other old North American cars can certainly benefit from aftermarket handling, braking components and the right wheel and tire combos, if we're including those mods.

A polara rt yea that would have been something ,And a c body rt yea il have one of them please

I had a cosworth it was a great car so I'm a looser then

If you feel that way, then I am sorry for you.
I can make a difference between the owner and the car.
To me a Sierra Cosworth is a POS no matter who owns it.
Still doesn't mean the owner is a bad guy.

You are talking about a "2Liter" engine. Milk comes in liter. Engines are measured in cubic inches.

I don't like any cars which are not V8s and have a rearwheel drive.
And I don't like modern cars at all.
So our own AMG Mercedes, your Cosworth Sierra, a Hyundai, a Ferrari F550, a Smart and a Porsche 911 GT3 and what ever else has been built in the last 40years have all in common for me: I don't like them, they don't interest me, I don't want them and to me they are all POS, looser cars, whatever you want to call them. Really. Honestly.
Keep in mind this is just my personal taste&opinion.

Somehow I get vexed when seeing modern crap on FCBO.
Seems to be one of my buttons
I guess I need to talk to my doctor and ask for some pills to cool down

Yea Carsten I noticed from certain posts you don't like modern cars I can't help that that's your perogitive The cars I have shown are quit modern but are classics in there own right My cosworth will always be special to me just as your cbodie is to you everybody has there own opinion yes I do agree modern cars are crap but don't berate people just because they don't own a cbodie hope you understand alex

Classic cars will always be my favorites. I have always loved the styling, the all metal bodies, the pillarless hardtops, the chrome and the big V-8 engines. I'm always happy when I can get behind the wheel of one of my old cars, it's just such a great feeling.

The old Big Block V8s made lots of power and torque and these cars would really move. Some Small Blocks were quite impressive too. Then there are the Hot Rods with modified engines. I will always love those cars.
For a while, during the late '70's and early '80's, there were no performance cars coming off the assembly line. Yeah, some of the names were still around, but that is all that they were, just names. These days, though, there are some very impressive machines coming out of the factory, the Hellcat, for example. There are also lots of aftermarket parts available for most of the more common late model cars, the ones that are popular with the younger crowd. While these cars will never be anything to me except "new cars" with modifications and even though I don't particularly care for them, I have to admit that some of them are very fast.

Sometimes even the most innocent looking can give a nasty bite.

I rolled in one of these for a short while and it ran like a raped ape! A buddy had an 85 Mecham T/A and an IROC that ran out great for a mid 80s car. That's about as far as my interest goes with cars (30s-mid 80s). I've been into some of the later versions of speed cars only due to my kids interest. Ever been in a late model ford focus st (cheep speed)?
