Usa v euro

Yes, the early 2.2 were absolute 85 hp turd, I think it was the 2nd gen turbo 2.2s when mitsu got involved and power was an impressive 110 thanks to a larger cam and a mitsu td04 turbo. They were still turds. Could you u build the 2.2...yes but still made a better boat anchor.(my opinion ) The 2.6 you did mention were in the conquests and starions.A good 1st attempt. The eagle talon, plymouth lazer and mitsubishi eclipse were all made by a company called DSM. Diamond Star Motors. ALL built in toledo ohio. The turbo cars all had the 4g63. As far as the viper is concerned yea those were cheap. 50+ then and 80+ now. The dsm's were 12-16k new. Lets compare apples to apples. I wont deny they were cool and faster but it was aimed more at the super car market. Not the rice fields!lol

Yeah, Vipers are slow. :icon_rolleyes:

Yes they are! Lmao.

Those 77 Trans Am's were sadly one of the most powerful cars of the year at 200hp. Still not that impressive.

2.2's used Garrett turbos for a long time, I don't know if that changed at some point.
DSM plant was in Illinois.
You were comparing a 45 year old, $4000 car to a new $100,000+ car, and then complain about wanting to compare apples to apples.

I stand corrected, Ive been building jeeps for the last 7yrs and mixed up the plants. I see you found your google. It was normal Illinois. Yes they did use garret turbos at 1st then switched to mitsu. I made no comparison to a 100k car. The Rb25dett and rb26dett were from r33 and r34 skylines. Neither of which were 100k. So I stand by my apples to apples....

I didn't need Google, I already knew they weren't built in Toledo. I don't know what year/s an r33 or an r34 Skyline was built, nor do I really care, but I would bet that it wasn't 1969, they weren't $4000, and they didn't weigh 2 tons.
