Another historic picture. In 1969 Richard Petty had a falling out with Chrysler because they wouldn't let him switch to a Dodge Daytona. So he parted ways with Chrysler & got a deal with Ford to run a Talledega Torino. This pic shows the Petty crew working on the new 1970 Torino. Chrysler gave in & built the Superbird & got Richard to come back. Wonder what happened to this 70 Ford and any others they had started on. That's Richard standing at the door

I have a copy of Richard Petty's autobiography, co authored by him in 1977. Signed by him too.
It's a great, hard bound book about his life to that point and loaded with color pictures. There is a great story about the first race hemi he took to the track.
It's somewhat rare but copy's show up every now and then.
