Walter P. Chrysler Museum will be shut down end of this year

The one caused my grandpa a fieldtrip to Stalingrad, the other one helped trip through his fields via a Fordson tractor, think we still have the owner*s manual somewhere.

I have a very limited amount of time on this trip. None of the museum visits were scheduled or even going to Detroit was in the plan. I can always go back to the Ford Museum... won't be able to go back to the Chrysler Museum after it closes to the public. Seeing the Chrysler Museum will result in mission accomplished.

Keeping an eye on the weather and, of course, its not looking good for Thursday currently, hopefully that'll change as the week progresses.
My dad volunteered on Saturday morning and said it was the first time he'd ever seen a line form outside before the museum opened.

Matt........

Rain, sleet, snow, hurricane, earthquake, tsunami, nuke strike...I'll be there Thursday about 9am.

You staying in town on Wednesday night?

Stopped by my parents yesterday and they told me what a good time they had at the last holiday dinner that the museum put on for the volunteers. They said it was very nice, of course and one of the volunteers, who has become close with my dad had wrote a poem to commemorate their time at the museum. For lack of wanting to type the whole thing out, here are a couple of pics. Lou has a purple Challenger R/T and is at all the shows with it and he refers to my dad, Art, in the poem. He's no Robert Frost but this is touching to say the least. Enjoy!

Very nice. I noticed immediately how genuine and sincere all the Chrysler Museum volunteers are. They also tallked very highly of Matt's Dad too. They made sure our visit was first class from the moment they greeted us at the door. I am so glad that I made the trip.

Me too, put that in the unforgettable column of car guy experiences!
how's your brother? Hope he's feeling better.

He's doing better. Had a reaction to the medication he was taking. Thanks for asking.

One final pic from the last day the museum was open to the public.
