Yeah, it's pretty tough finding a mechanic who works with these cars, but fortunately, my dad had a Volare with the 318 when he was younger and he has a 6.1 Challenger now, so he's pretty familiar with Mopar engines. So far, I have replaced the radiator, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, heater hoses, radiator hoses, alternator, voltage regulator, both negative cables, and the entire front brake system. I also purchased new Vercelli Classic 787 tires, and my uncle repainted the fan, battery plate, and alternator bracket. Currently, the car is in alright condition, as it runs and drives, but it still needs a bit of tuning and refreshing. So after reviewing the car with my dad, the biggest problem we have so far is the exhaust manifold, since it was run right next to the valve covers, so the valve covers melted and it started a pretty bad oil leak. My plan is to put headers on it and new valve covers, which should resolve that issue. The other biggest problem is the fuel gauge not working, so I will likely replace the sending unit and see if that fixes the problem. Also, whenever the car is in high idle, the AC pump pulley makes a horrible scratching noise, so I think the bearing may be shot. Lastly, if you guys have any info on the Lean Burn System, that would be super helpful, since I have never heard of the system until I bought my car, so I am not very familiar with it. Thanks for all the help and responses so far!
