Well I went and got a 69 fury iii today

I would love to see a side angle [broadside] of the rear bumper to see how far the exhaust tips stick out for reference. What tips are they or are they just exhaust pipe?
Looking at your car sir you have very good taste!!

Well worth the 400 mile drive. That car looks about mint. It was well taken care of. Congratulations.

Thank you NCFury . I feel very fortunate and will do my very best to keep her that way!

Just an update. Because of my job and workload I sent my Fury to a excellent guru of these type cars in my area. He asked me if I tuned it up and I said no. I just drove it till it could been seen by him. He said I have good news and bad news,,,, The good was the timing was backed way off for some reason and the dizzy has 2 lobes that are worn off. He did the best he could to get the dwell at an acceptable level and raised the timing. He said it felt like it added 85 hp. Must have been really retarded . Now the bad news...He said he thought the whole front suspension was original to the car. He said it needs everything. It is believable since the ad stated the car was known to have around 40,000 original miles on it. It has a new speedo so there is no way to verify. So he told me to order a full front end kit and bring it to him. So I ordered a kit. I wished I could have done it myself but my workload will not permit it. He said otherwise she was in great shape. A new dizzy is on the way too.

I have always had the attitude of "do it once and do it right" when it comes to front end work.

Well he did say that I wouldn't call the steering wheel a rudder anymore after it was all done. [one of my complaints] And with the added pep I am really looking forward to getting it back. I am going to tackle the lack of gauge issue and look into the whole ammeter bypass or load reduction thing as well as a headlight relay system. going to research all that here. It will be fun when I have time which is soon.

Yes I agree ,,the next weakest link will fail.

Well I am expecting to get the "Big Boned Gal" back tomorrow. Expected is a complete cleaning and treating of superficial surface rust underneath and a whole new front end. Inner /outer tie rod ends ,upper lower ball joints, control arm bushings ,adjusting the steering box ,etc,,new distributor [old one had 2 lobes worn down} still with points and alternator belt alignment problem resolved etc. He said the front end is most likely original to the car. He also said the timing was very retarded and when brought up to spec he thought it gained 85 HP with the old worn dizzy.. Although the car has been in his shop close to a month I did not bug him or even visit the shop as he is so in demand and I feel fortunate he is even interested in the car. He did say however lots of Mopar guys are coming to see the car. They all own B bodies and E bodies etc and he said they come look at her and really go nuts. I guess cause there a far fewer of them than theirs and they Never see them. I wished I had the time to tackle some of these things but my workload prohibits this and when I do have time off I want to enjoy the ride ,not cursing under a car. I will report on my findings in the next few days . It should be a trip!!

Got my Fury back and the the steering wheel is no longer a rudder anymore. Drum brakes work great and the front end was lowered abit. I replaced the wires and distributor as the distributor was worn. I replaced the plugs and to my dismay the electrodes were white indicating a lean condition so I guess I have to either clean the carb or try richer metering rods first ,or both. it is a 1406 eddy which is know to be a lean carb. I don't hear any detonation but I am not going to floor it till I richen it up. Sure would be nice to have 2 wide band O2 sensors ,,then tuning would be easy.
Here is the slightly new stance.

Thanks ! You like the other style of rear glass I take it. She goes in for a all new exhaust system possible this week.

Yes...... The concave vs convex debate has been a debate on c body boards since the beginning of C body boards.

Now see, thats how a front end should be set up, not like the black GT that I posted on here a week ago.
