Well I went and got a 69 fury iii today

Thanks! I like it very much myself. I remember that black GT you posted ,,it made no sense to me the way it was sitting especially after all the apparent work that went into the build. Even more so with how easy it is to lower with the torsion bars.
My Fury now with the whole new front end and shocks and sway bar bushings and being lowered it handles pretty damned good for such a large car.

In tomorrow for a full exhaust system. 2 Magnaflows 2 1/2 with no H pipe. I can always add it later as well as swap out mufflers if I don't like them. Turn downs at the exit sticking out just abit below the bumper at an angle and cut parallel to the ground. No trumpets sticking straight back.

Got the ole gal back today and although not finished [I will explain] the new exhaust is in! 2 1/2 out with Magnaflows and no H pipe. A big discovery was found as my heat riser was frozen on and completely stuck. God knows for how long. He freed it up and between that and the new exhaust it has a lot more snot. Mostly torque. My problem with these cars of this vintage is I really do not know what is the norm good or bad from the sound or the buttOmeter. Also I have never owned a 440. I am more used too my Omni GLHS which is a good bit faster than my 440 Fury III. But that is not a concern as I would rather drive my Fury 90% of the time and 10% of the time scare the living **** out of myself with the Omni. When I looked at the Fury when I picked her up my daughter and I thought the turn downs were way too long. He the muffler guy said the same and did't have a good tool to cut it off as he lent it to a friend. I will post pics for who ever is interested of the before and after of the cut.

Well I can't find yet the before pics but I do have an after pic. It pretty much turned out the way I wanted. They are both 2 1/2 inch pipes with two Mangnaflow mufflers with no cross over pipe. Compared to the old glass packs they are much richer and deep and fattening sounding. I like them very much and no drone anywhere in the rpm/load range. The back of this car is so huge that the 2 1/2 inch pipes still look small lol. So thanks everyone for your ideas and preferences and thoughts on the exhaust exit strategy. You were all most helpful.

Hey thanks man. Did you go to the Mopar Madness yesterday at Lebanon Valley?
The show at Pittsfield MA airport was better than anyone would have hoped. Over 400 show cars showed up and god knows how many spectators. The weather was very good and the Warbird Airshow was spectacular. Gooney Bird and Texans in formation flying ,new and old military helicopters ,,RC airshow , Hot air balloon rides ,tons of stuff for the kids etc. For the first year it went very very well especially with the higher than expected turn out. The main host was the Piston Poppers . A hot rod club started in the 1950's and one of the oldest clubs in the USA. Overall the cars stole the show as there was so much to look at.

Yep.... we made the Lebanon show... That was one Hell of a drive. It was a get away weekend for us, over 700 miles on the convertible Saturday /Sunday

Good for you ! I am sure it was a great show. I would have loved to have gone to that one too. Maybe next year.

Lebanon Raceway is really neat . I was at a show this year called Musclepalooza sponsored by Hemmings. Great to see all the cars on display that many people drove in and as a distraction you could watch the drag racing too. That went on all day.

I meant to ask you polara if you saw any C bodies there? With 400+ cars at the show I went to there was only ONE other C body there. :(

Two others. A good friend with his 70 Polara and a Fury.....The front said it was a 65 but the rear bumper said 66, but either way...oh the 72 Polara police car too so 4 Cs

Mannn...- that's a pretty tight car. I managed to see some of the pics of the car in the garage. WAYYY cool.
I actually went up to a farm in Pennsylvania just north of me yesterday and helped a gentleman unearth a 1970 Plymouth Sport Suburaban Wagon that had been sitting in a poison ivy covered forest since 1991. SOOO cool but considering the back floor (just behind the front seat) is totally gone, the quarters need to be replaced, and well- who knows whatever else- I had to pass unless I'd get it for $500. Lots of work on that one-but had a 383, AC, PS & was pretty much complete plus the motor was moving so...
Tough to pass up such cool rides but one has to know where to draw the line ya know?
