What are you working on today??

Got the door latches in the 64, I hate door work. First took forever second was easy after the learning curve of the first one. Converting to disc brakes and curios to see if I could make left hand studs work in the rotor. A friend has a Bridgeport and lathe, the studs where from my 68- a-100 that I changed to right hands. He had to turn them down slightly on the head and shank and then re knurled them. Only about a 1mm short thru the rotor, so that should not be a problem with the lug nuts.

Assembled my rotor/spindle assembly for my disc brakes, with oil seal, bearings, and all the other hardware.

Calipers and adapters are next.

Looks good to me! Simple but stylish. What's that, colored Oak, Ash? Keep pictures coming..
Regards
Mika
It’s white oak with a silver/gray stain. All of the treads and risers are in too and have been covered since I finished them.
Here’s the fireplace before. Kool enough but kinda dated and at that point it was the only thing left in the house that wasn’t white, gray or stained dark.

Had to cover up all that stone to lighten it up and modernize.

I had some time away from the client above while I waited for other trades to finish their work so I took this job.

I completely removed the stairs including the original framing as they were so poorly done to begin with that there was no way to improve them. This was fun. I like metal fab as much as wood.

Getting the home projects out of the way to continue working on the fury. This weekend was pulling off old fireplace surround and mantel to make required clearance for wood stove insert (arrives end of month). Prepped brickwork for new tile. Installed tile on hearth. Mocked up new fireplace mantel and surround. Not quite @dematt quality, but satisfied just the same. Lol. Before and progress photos below.

Working on one of my turbines at work right now. We had a vibration event that led to some blade damage about a week or so ago. It's only a little guy at 15,000 hp, but it's a screamer at 5,100 rpm (for a steam turbine at least). Getting ready to ship the rotor off to have it inspected, and potentially make a cut on the L-0 blades (last stage blades) to remove the damage.

Nothing as high tech as turbine blades.....
But I finally got the carbs back for the '66 GTO (factory tri-power). They have now been reinstalled. Just waiting for SPRING to fire it up and tweak them.
