naw is in SE Calgary on golf club type setup..6 mill they were sayin..lotsa oil money in Alberta
their view..


re the truss's..is easy to buy than build yourself..$x labour ect plus if you build and fail then its gona cost ya..buy manufactured and onus is on manufacturer..up here with snow loads to be considered as well is just easyer to have them built to code and delivered as needed,,alota job sites are lacking space to set up proper jigs to build ect...progress..

Yah, I understand all advantages to the builder.
But it's my effen house. I wanted GeeDee rafters.
Even the Contractor himself has never seen or used a framing square.

Look at any house construction site now.
Not one skilled tradesman proud of their craft (Keyword: CRAFT).
All laborers now.

When I built my house, I wanted a stick built roof (rafters, joists, etc).
Builder said: Nope, trusses only. There are no Framers down here.

You couldnt afford it...........

The nice thing about properly engineered trusses is that you can make your floorplan anything you want with the lack of bearing walls. But you still need someone who can assemble them correctly.
