What is your opinion on aftermarket tint on Formal's. I have replaced the seats in my 78 NYB once already. The leather in the NYB's can't be easily replaced and it's harder and harder to find great leather seats for these cars or an interior craftsman that can properly reupholster these seats. I believe that having an aftermarket tint shop apply 3M laser cut tint would extend the life of the interior seats, package tray, door panels, dash pad. As long as there isn't 22" wheels on the car and a thumping sound system the tint won't make the car take on a "thuggish" appearance. Any tips on what manufacturer and type of tint would be the best product to use would be appreciated.

I understand the advantage of "film tint" on the glass. It just never looks right on a large car IMHO. Maybe OK on a little "tunner",
Your factory glass should already have a tint that will cut UV.

Here is an alternative. I got one for Jazebelle and one for Ellies Mustang. Inexpensive, light weight, easy to put on and off and stash in the trunk. Great for UV protection but not real weather proof.

I tell yas what, NOT having tinted windows in a hot, humid climate sucks! So, do what YOU want on the car with the tint. I don't gripe at folks that decide to tint.

I'm not going with dark limo tint, Just the stuff that is legal...I think it's 35%. The same stuff that's on my truck. I only use 3M products and the Chrstalline stuff and only to protect the interior. I drive it just about every day to work from spring to fall and the car cover thing is PITA every time I stop.

I agree with you comments. My '04 GTO had problems with the leather on the front seat side bolsters and top of the rear seat. My car rarely sat outside. If your car sits outside alot or is driven in the Summer then do it. Your degree of tinting is not excessive. You will notice a significant diffenence inside in a positive way. Around here a reasonable tint job on a four door car would be $200. One last thing check with state law on degree of tinting and keep that in mind in case you are stopped.

I'm gonna tint the **** outa mine this summer. Just go to a tint shop.

The back windows are so dark in my truck that I have to roll them down to back up at night.

this is just a artists rendition but gives a good idea at whats possible with these boats

I still would love to see Dave SR's car on a black T-shirt.

Thank you Will.... Funny thing about C body guys. Apparently most don't want a C body shirt, rather they want their model car on a shirt. A guy could go broke making shirts for C body guys.....
