What to do with all these junk 440s

440s were being cast and assembled mid 1965 for installation into 1966 model year cars, which themselves were starting to be assembled in late August of 65 for sales commencing in the fall of 65.

Ross your motor is on its way. Just left. 440 with a build date of 7/1/65
Quite possibly one of the first 440s made

Do not trash them. If blocks and heads aren't cracked from freezing water, they are likely salvageable. A 440 block seems to be going for about $250-400 on the east coast. I sold a bunch of blocks, cranks, and heads about 2 years ago that were left over untouched except they were all cleaned up and inspected.
