If you are going to pull the valve body you can push it out from the back.
Hmm I have the valve body and extension housing out already. I didn’t think of doing that. After kids go to bed I might give that a whirl.

Send my radio to Gary T. to work his magic.
And move the car over to the girlfriend’s house. She had me at 3-stall heated garage.
Just go get a starter from a mid ‘90s V8 Dakota, much cheaper.Add to list:
One @#@@#%&* starter! Call in to Mancini Racing.
Was gonna back it out last night for driveway photo shoot in 8" of snow for another thread. The Del'Monaco didn't want to go. Can't blame it!

I bought my first “mini” starter from Mancini at the Nats a couple of years back for 100 bucks, it was a show special. I put it in the Imp and really liked it, still do. When it came time to buy one for the vert I didn’t feel like spending 140 bucks so I spent 36 at the corner parts store down the street. They look the same, work the same but the one from Mancini just sounds a bit better.
Nope.Does it sound $64 better?
I think it sounds $104 better.Does it sound $64 better?
I'm afraid not but right now I am just trying to come to terms with the idea of parting with the car; and more work needs to be done on this.
It will be a hard adjustment since I've never been C-bodiless; but it will increase my freedom and reduce my expenses, particularly storage.
Due to merger/reorganization, the writing is on the wall for losing my job within a year; a very undesirable situation at my age. When I'm a bum in the park near the 79th Street Boat Basin, I hope some will throw me chicken bones....., as I grunt and scratch.
In the meantime, I could use some help in the form of strong arguments in favor of letting go of the car. Thanks
Oliver, I understand your concern. I am getting close to retirement and I know what it is like to be a victim of downsizing, regardless of how well you do your job. I won't bore you with the details, but it happened to me in 2004. Granted, we were younger then, but it was still scary as I was supporting a family with a stay-at-home wife and 3 small boys. One of our friends here on the site posted a saying his grandmother had that when one door closes another door opens and I fully agree. My mother said the same thing, and when I went through my job loss she repeated it to me several times. And, she was right. My advice, which I know you have not asked for, but I hope you don't mind me giving, is that if you are really certain this is coming, then start looking right now, tomorrow, so you can find that door and have something to replace your current position before it happens. Thomas Jefferson once said "I am a firm believer in luck and I find that the harder I work the more of it I have." I think that if you can apply that to your job search now you will be surprised at how much "luck" you will have in your search, and getting started right away can only help. I truly hope you can turn this in to a positive and not allow it to knock you down.
Now that the winter months are in full gear, what are your plans for upgrades to your car?
I plan on dyno matting the floor, and installing a new carpet. Also upgrading the brake system, and rebuilding the carb. I am sure that will lead to a few other things also, aways does. Lets here yours?
Nice...
