GLWS. I personally would make it reliable driver and do just that, drive it. I realize a lot of people can't just do that, it has to be right/perfect, I don't have that hang up. Ask what you want for it. I would not even listen to the naysayers, they want to tear you down and have no intention of buying the car. I know we do that all the time with CL ads, but those people are not passionate about the car(s) so we bash away. This is one of our own, let him be, offer your info ,hit the red x and then don't look, and keep beating him down. Like a bunch of gossippy old women.

Think you'll be waiting a long time. Personally, I hope that you get it because it would only mean my '65 Monaco with a 413 4bbl would be worth a lot more. But according to Hagerty Insurance, which I have found to be pretty spot on with car values, a 426 4bbl automatic in #1 CONCOURS condition would only be worth $25,000. "Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."

"In #4 FAIR condition, according to Hagerty, it is worth $9,000. The description for Fair condition is; #4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration."

Yes, a 4 speed would add to the value but I don't think it would be $11,000. Plus, the FAIR condition rating is for a car that runs and is drivable.

I respect anyone who would like to comment but I assume you did not read the whole post. So, tell me, when was the last time you saw one sell(426 4speed)? Let me go out on a limb here...................NEVER! As I stated before, there is no market(pricing)if there is nothing to go by. They are stabbing in the dark. Side tracking for one minute....they do not even list Cordobas....I have a list of about 10 people who want to buy mine if it ever comes up for sale, out of touch with reality there. And seeing as how you took the time to price my car out using the Hagerty Price Guide did you actually take the time to see they have 2 different listings for Hemis!!! The stupid fucks don't even know what these cars came with or not, how the hell can they say what they are worth. It is a GUIDE that I certainly would not swear by. As stated prior, I really don't care what people think of the price, some have stated that deep pockets will be required, yes, very true. But does it matter if I sell it for $5k or $20k? No, you will STILL need deep pockets for the restoration. Too many dreamers at $5k and the car will just sit, get over it.

I don't want it to go and sit, it should be restored, imo.
That has been the general consensus I think.
Like to see this unique car hit the road and be enjoyeed.
Ohhhhhhh.... to be going through the gears right now. Long and slow. Listening to the symphony coming out the pipes. The burble when shifting. The....

But, I digress.

Just think Stan, you wouldn't have to convert it!

I agree fully with Stan, if it can't be restored just get it out and enjoy driving it.
But... I also understand NutCase's position - sometimes life just doesn't cooperate with that.

So Nutcase:
Do what I'm doing with my 4-speed car - sit on it, keep it from deteriorating, and see what happens in the coming years. Keep it from falling in the wrong hands.

Devils advocate , you can' t save them all . Sometimes the car controls you and gets in the way of your life even if it is just sitting. I almost gave away my Rose Bowl car but felt I did it justice by selling it to a member to whom I am certain will re do the car.
I think aggressive selling will sell the car. No one is going to donk this one

So, if someone overseas was willing to buy your car, how would you feel about it being shipped out of the US, probably for good?, thoughts?

No offense to those over seas, I would rather see it stay in the states. However, if someone has the means to purchase it AND ship it, more than likely they have the means to also restore it. In the end, that is what I want to see for the car.

But stop and think about that, then think about this:
I sold a pretty nice 70 300 TNT back in 2008, from what I've read here it's exactly what the EU folks would've been looking for. I sold it at a local swap meet to a guy from Canada. I probably would've gotten a lot more for it if I'd known to explore the EU market.

In the past years the ONLY thing I've ever seen of that car again was a single internet pic from a car show. In that pic the car is still the same except new tires, new exh tips, and has a Canadian license plate. So essentially it vanished from the earth - so what difference would it make if it was still in Indy, still in the US, or over in Dubai or something? Gone is gone.

Again, just something to think about...

It just rubs us the wrong way. Conversely, I once sold a car to a fellow from Finland and was fine in doing so. That was 15 years ago, I've seen one photo of it.

I've been thinking about your offer to sell your rare 4-spd 426 car and your seemingly-high asking price. You may eventually find that 1 of 1 purchaser, but its probably gonna take a long long time. I don't know how old you are or how long you think you will be on the planet, but if the car doesn't sell before you are gone, it could end up with a relative or a flipper putting it on CL or feebay with a hose laying under it. Therefore, it would likely sell for substantially less than you currently want (of course, if you ain't around anymore, I guess you wouldn't know. . . or care).

Why don't you get it running and driving, so you can at least get some enjoyment out of it while you are still around? Of course, if yer now only forty years old, please ignore everything I've said and continue to market the car for at least another thirty or forty years and find that 1 of 1 buyer. . .
