1966 Fury III - Unfinished Project

Took a look today again at the sheet steel, trying to picture what it should look like.

Still unsure if that was intended to drain down the back of the inner wheel tub and out at the base, or if it qas a fully sealed corner, goobered in with lead and shaped up.

Anyone know for sure? Both sides on mine are too rusty to be able to tell what shape it should be.

Thanks

Phil

I believe that the corner that you are looking at is supposed to be filled with, smooth and without a drain.
I’m not sure, but others may chime in.
I don’t have your year. My 68 doesn’t have a drain.

Looks like it was assembled in this shape.

The little divot in the corner brace suggests something but just to drain inside would be odd; the lack of a drain suggests the rust in the first place.

It may just be space to allow the body worker to be able to shape the steel correctly.
I just want to rebuild the corners correctly so I can get the screen glass back in.

i dont know if it’s the same for a Fury3 as a Sport Fury but my SP doesn’t have a drain. Don’t know if you can tell from this pictures. I hope they help. This was back before we started working on it
