1967 383 hp?

Hey fellas,
Never any problem with gained knowledge and info. Sorta depressed as I type. I looked at the car in question yesterday. All of my "hoping" did not make it so.
It was a 500 alright, but had the "G" engine. :-( DP23G74______
It also had 98k and not 67k miles. It didn't have a console shift as told, and was pretty rusty. One odd thing though, it had the round '68 marker lights all around, but still the normal '67 taillights with no extra chrome rib for the 500. I didn't see any other neat options, but did have the clock knob under the dash as discussed in another post. I was really hoping it would have been a 4bbl 325 h.p. engine.
Oh well, getting pretty good at chasing geese, just wish I was better at catching them. Sooner or later, right? Greatly appreciate all that was shared, and love the humor! Lol

I'm really knocking myself lately. I sold a '61 Plymouth Suburban 2Dr. wagon I bought in Reno. (divorce) It was a storage problem with the sale of our home, but didn't have to sell. Nearly rust free, running slant six, standard trans. Bending over for
placement of kicks.

Jim Rhinehart is my go-to man on these cars. He can tell you the part number of each component in the steering box of these cars. And how many original spare tires have been accounted for.

So your not going for this car because of a intake and cam? If so care to pass along

Isn't therefore to the 325h.p.engine than cam and intake? I thought the heads were different too. How about the pistons? Still wondering if it would be worth picking up for the right price.

Heads and pistons are the same.

Bill (Monaco67) or I will buy the taillights if they're not cracked.

What's a good deal for a '67 Monaco that's rusty, column shift, and a 270h.p. engine worth?

it's getting down there. 66-67 was the lowest performing 383's(270HP) of all the 60's. I love my 66' Polara, but it is very casual in the performance arena. Chrysler was getting out of the 361(265hp), and some wanted a cheap replacement. it was temporary, fortunately. 68' was a lot better.

There are 2 different pistons for 67 and earlier, basically high and low compression approx a point different the 2 bbl had the lower compression height pistons which is good for.cruising on cheap gas heads will be 516 casting number 2 or 4 bbl if it is a late build car it could have 915 castings on it but with 2 bbl unlikely. They where using up all these castings because 1968 was changing to open chamber heads all the pistons were changing lots of different parts so 67 was a use this stuff up year. Price depends on how rusty is it a fast top?

Two hardtop styles, fastback window vs not so. My Newport 67' is considered that, I guess, as It has flow thru ventilation. There are slotted Vents around exterior of the back window along the bottom, and two vacuum operated duhickies in the speaker tray operated by a whatyou maycall it,on the heater controls.(I'm going to have to restore that car.)
