1969 Imperial progress thread

I couldn't figure out if its genuine leather or just leatherette...
What they called "Cloth & Leather" for the Imperial was indeed Cloth & Vinyl. But the optional leather bucket seats that your car has should have seating surfaces (not bolsters) made out of real leather. Unless, of course, they have been redone by a Mexican upholstery shop in vinyl at some time in the past. :icon_wink:

As far as I could see until now, my car is in stock condition! Means, I will see the real leather when I strip the seats!

Definitely no Rolls Royce conolly leather, but they cost a good bit less as well.

No, they really did use leather on the edges of the seats on the '69 Imperial LeBaron 2 door standard bench seat interior. As with the leather bucket seat option, they used it sparingly, however. Vinyl was used on everything but the actual seating surface. It would be more accurate to call them "leather, cloth, and vinyl" or "leather and vinyl".

Optional headrests for the buckets were Vinyl in 69 also, right ?

That's learning all about your car as best you can. I love your appetite for details.
GOOD for you Vodka.

Thaks Stan. Nice that it strikes you. I love details and someday, when I start reassemble my car, you will see all the small but important details we all love that much!

They always seem to be missing, but when you find a seat with one, it is nearly impossible to remove!

I didn't know that, so it's real news for me. The Imperial division might not have been that accurate in other (later) model years.

Make sure you get the proper ones for your year .`69 and `70 used this style`71 and later used the teardrop style.First pic is the `71 and later, second is `69 and `70Page36-reg.jpgPages05-06.jpg
