Hello, I have been following your Imperial progress thread from afar and cannot locate your link with 90 uploaded pictures. May I ask for some direction? Thank you, Joseph

I'm back and have uploaded 90 pics in the event thread, next to a link to the whole gallery.

I was referring to the Mopar nationals Germany thread:

If you wanna see pics of my Imp, this is the way to go:

I pulled the zylinders today. After a little soft left and right pushing the crank, all zylinders were free and the engine cranked over... 6 of 8 Zylinders came out pretty easy but 2 are stuck on the second ring. Maybe I can remove them to the inner side of the engine?!

All parts have a "D" stamped in, even the connecting rod bearing... they show some uneven wear...

According to a list I found, the "D" stands for "1968", right?

Year Codes for B & RB Engines
A - 1965
B - 1966
C - 1967
D - 1968
E - 1969
F - 1970
G - 1971
H - 1972
J - 1973
P - 1960
R - 1961
S - 1962
T - 1963
V - 1964
4T - 1974
5T - 1975
6T - 1976
7T - 1977
8T - 1978

It's what I found by searching for "D stamping on 440 engine". If there is another reason, let me know.

I had my camera yesterday not there, but I will make some pictures today.

I think we're all going to be fascinated as well as educated when you get to post those pictures. I still learn something new every day.

Hold the comments about being a slow learner.......

On a '67, you need to remove the motor assembly. Just be very careful to make sure and keep the spring captive, so it doesn't injure you.

Yes remove motor, do something to hold window up before your unbolt it as the large geared arm will cut your fingers off or open your palm like a soup can depending on where your hands are and how fast the glass falls, be careful.

wow, that sounds dangerous Oo

I like my fingers... I will do that today I hope. If I still have finders tonight ,I will report ;)

If you don't, use your nose to type out a post. But report either way.

I have some info on removing window motors in my threads. I think I put the process in my Imperial thread, and there was some discussion of it in a separate thread on window motors. I'm sure if you do a search on threads I've started, you can find it.

Also, there is quite a bit of discussion in the archives over at the Imperial club about window motors. A good resource.

My windows were glued in the up position with all the gunk.
Use caution as I don’t know that setup, may be best if you lay the door on the floor, take gravity out of the equation.

I remember the discussion about the windows on your Imperial, Joaquin! I will read it again and see if I can use this informations to not cut off my fingers ;)

I wanted to remove the window before I unscrew the door, but I agree that it's maybe a better idea to lay it down in order to remove the glass.

ok, I'm not going enywhere today... The bmw is in for inspection and is vw is dead because I never drive it...

More time to read old posts then. (found the posts in both threads)
