Take that car to a "paint correction" detailer and it'll shine like a diamond in a goat's ***! It is absolutely money well-spent. Plus, a good paintless dent removal guy can do wonders for the few little dings you have. All very justified on a solid black car like yours.
Notice the tires don't show ozone degradation or sun fading/cracking! You should be good for driving on those, albeit carefully. Bias-ply tires are not as prone to the "six years and you're gonna die!" syndrome that new radials are.
What engine and trans are in this black beauty???

Eagle-eyed members might have noticed from the interior pics that this is indeed a 3 on the tree car. I didn’t call it a stripper for nothing! Under the hood is a Slant 6. Manual brakes, manual steering. Currently no brakes! Also the engine is locked up tight. It has a 8.75” rear axle though.

Now for the ugly. The engine is locked up so I took the plugs out and pumped a mixture of kerosene and ATF in each one. I tried rocking the car back and forth while in 3rd gear to see if that would get it moving. No luck. I let it soak while I cleaned up the interior then decided to get out the breaker bar. Well, somebody had beat me to it a long time ago. The bolt is broken off in the crank and it’s not a fresh break either. I figured it must’ve had some catastrophic failure way back when and it’s been sitting ever since. I investigated. The following picture may be unsettling to younger viewers….

Back to the interior pictures! Lets concentrate on the positive! The floors and trunk are solid as are the stub and rear rails. I don’t have pics of those yet and I’m too tired to lay down and take any!

I investigated further into the seized engine by removing the head…,
I expected to see evidence of catastrophic failure. None was found. Nothing obvious anyway. The engine had anti-freeze in it and the bores don’t look bad from what I can see. Beating the pistons with a wooden block an shop hammer didn’t persuade them to budge either. Looks like it’ll have to come out for further inspection.
It makes me wonder though… how does an indestructible slant 6 fail at such low mileage? If that is why it was parked…. If it wasn’t locked up when parked, then how did the rest of the car survive while the rocker assembly fell to ruin?

Edit: just saw the tag, thank you for posting it. PE41C0D258384 is indeed TX9 with an E2B3 vinyl bench interior!. One more of the TX9/blue cars. See my post here for three other examples. The EB3 paint on the upper door frames is clearly visible in some of your shots -- thank you!

Dad had a '63 Dodge 330 with a red interior and red speckles.
If you have a dirty set, spill Coca Cola on them.
Dad's would never clean up with water, but where I spilled the Coke, it never looked dirty again.
