1978 NYB New Engine.....

I'm quite satisfied with the progress my friends and I have accomplished already this weekend.

A lot of other tasks also done like the entire MSD ignition system mounted and wired, the remote pwr steering reservoir mounted and hoses fabricated. Stall converter, txsm input seal and filter and fluid change. And on and on....

I don't know if I said I added a B&M 2400 rpm stall converter too.
I thought you did. I forgot this, :poke:, I just figured you would have the underside looking just as purdy ad the top, go all out with this last build.

I love the build philosophy, it's what I'd like to do with all my rides, hopefully I can in short order. I, and I'm sure others here, are living vicariously through you on this one. Having tasted a short road trip, I have a craving for a long road trip, that I don't have to worry about before I leave.

So til next weekend, I'll wait patiently for your parts to come in.

I still enjoy the hunt for parts and engineering fabrication to overcome the lack of C-body bolt in parts.

Great example.....

I called Entrophy Radiator and told them I wanted an exact fit aluminum radiator with two 1" rows that had the dual 11" fans for a 1978 Chrysler. He asked if it was a 26" core and I said it was but a Formal is 32" from bolt hole to bolt hole. He said the one he sold will fit. Well, his radiator will fit a B-body that is 28" wide. The radiator also has a left side lower hose instead of right side like Formals have. Doesn't matter to me because the Billet Specialities serpentine system comes with a left side aluminum water pump housing. So my hunt for aluminum plate to mod the radiator I stall mod continues.

How about using a radiator from Champion and buying a dual fan and shroud kit and adapt that to your Champion radiator.
The only alteration you need to make to the Champion to drop into your NYB is to elongate the lower radiator mount. Easy.
And then, the kits are easy to adapt to any radiator.

I already spent $700 for this radiator plus I think a couple of hundred more for the automated controller.

Still would have to modify that radiator....

I just need to find 2 aluminum plates 3.5"×18"x3/16".

Like i said....if it was a B-body it would of bolted right in

The manufacturer "tech" said it's a 26" core so they are the same.

Pretty nice! Hey!

I tried telling them they need to mod the mounts for a C-Body.

Another thing.... this radiator works with a left side water pump housing. 74-78 C-Body water pump housing is right side. My serpentine system ha a left side Mopar Performance aluminum water pump and housing.

And it has two 1" rows of cooling. So it has plenty of cooling for engines up to 900hp.
